Remus ate three sausages for breakfast. He was flushed; he tended to get a bit feverish before the full moon. And he managed to get through a morning class without saying a word to anyone, for fear of losing his temper over the smallest thing.

He was also avoiding Aaron as best he could, but when he went back to the room after class, when he thought Aaron would be out, he discovered he was wrong.

"I thought you'd be at practice," he blurted.

Aaron had a feeling, and when Remus blurted out his surprise at his presence, Aaron was convinced; Remus was avoiding him. He just didn't know why. Was their relationship not what he had hoped? Was he tryimg to ditch him? Or was it something he'd said, or done?

"Practice was cancelled," he said, and then. "Are you angry with me? Have I upset you?"

Remus winced. "I - no, god no, I just - the full moon is tonight. I'm not. I'm not feeling like myself."

"Oh..." Aaron said, and felt a fool for being self-centered. "Does that mean you have to...go to the shed tonight?" he winced as he spoke the words. It sounded so inhumane.

"Well I can't stay in here with you can I," Remus snapped.

Then winced again and and added hastily, "I'm sorry."

"That's okay," Aaron saudm gently. "That's the wolf, right?"

He set his book aside. "I still think it's not right to leave you there, alone."

"It won't... it won't be me. I barely feel like me right now." Remus sat down on his bed and hugged his knees to his chest. "I feel like I'm on fire."

"Does it hurt?" Aaron asked.

[mooningremus]

"Not yet," Remus grumbled. It would, later. It always hurt.

"Right now I just feel like... feverish, I guess. And irritable. And hungry. And..." He looked up at him. "And horny. All of those things at once, it's like the wolf just wants to... devour." To devour Aaron, specifically, which is why he'd been avoiding him.

Aaron got that from Remus' words. "Ah..." It didn't sound all together unappealing to be...well, that.

Except if Remus didn't feel like himself then... was it something he wanted? It seemed wrong, consent-wise. "Is the full moon tonight?"

"Yes."

Remus hesitated, and then said, "I thought you might... that you might not like how I am now. Or that I wouldn't be able to control myself around you."

"I get it's not nice, but... we should probably just...see how it goes, right? I don't want us to avoid each other every month," Aaron said. "I can hold my own, if needed. I'd rather help you if I can."

Remus wet his lips, watching him. It wasn't like he could hurt him, right? Remus wasn't a wolf right now, and Aaron was stronger. The risk was that he didn't like how Remus was now, and he could just stop things...

Remus also wasn't exactly sure what he was now. What he'd be like if he got going. Just uh, what kind of porn he tended to like close to the full moon and where his fantasies shifted... But he could control himself. Totally.

"Do you want to have sex?" he said softly.

"Are you still...you?" Aaron asked, softly in return. "I don't want you to wake up regretting things." But he smiled, because yes, he was very much interested. Sex with Remus was unlike anything he'd ever had. And it was great.

“Yes,” Remus said quickly. “I’m still lucid, just um. It’s hard to explain. Sorry if - I’m just anxious. Come here.” He patted the bed beside him.

Aaron complied happily and joined him. And then leaned in and kissed him, just so he knew it was all good.

Remus kissed him back, and it was like a dam he'd been clinging to broke. Both hands slid up into Aaron's hair and he climbed onto his lap, straddling his hips as he kissed him fiercely.

Oh! But Aaron definitely liked that. He kissed him back deeply.

Remus hadn't actually considered, what if Aaron liked him more like this. But really, at this point he wasn't thinking much at all.

He pushed Aaron onto his back and stripped off his own shirt. And then he leaned over him and licked a line across his neck.

The next word out of his mouth was almost a growl, and it surprised him, but he was too far gone now to take it back.

"Mine."

He kissed him again.

Not more, as such, but Aaron was not complaining. No one had ever called him theirs, in that low possessive growl, and it surprised Aaron how much he liked it.

He managed to take off his own shirt as well. "Yours," he agreed quietly. The promise of...well, he didn't know exactly what, but this was certainly turning him on and he was getting hard.

Remus tugged Aaron's lower lip between his teeth before pulling away from the kiss and looking down at him. Remus' skin was flushed, and slightly warm to the touch; his lips were red, eyes full of desire.

"Aaron," he said softly, his breathing quick, "You should take control, unless... do you want...? What do you want?"

"I... I don't know, but... I really like you like this. A bit, you know...bossy," Aaron said, a little ashamed at how turned on he was. "Maybe just...do what feels good?"

Remus would unpack how he felt about all this later. Right now, he was just felt more need than he could ever remember feeling.

"But do you want... me to be on top?" Remus asked breathlessly, nerves creeping into his voice but mostly overwhelmed by desire. "It's okay if you don't. I don't - I don't want to hurt you."

"I've never-... But I want to try," Aaron admitted and went quite red. "Though if you're not comfortable doing that now..."

Honestly Remus thought that if he tried it when he wasn't feeling like this he might be too nervous. But right now the intense want was enough to override it.

"Swear to me that you'll stop me if I'm hurting you or there's anything you don't like," he said in a rush.

"I will," Aaron nodded. "I want you..." he said, for good measure. "Though I suppose that's obvious," he added, lifting his hips to press his growing erection against Remus
