Willy (Christmas)

Even though it had been a bit of a mixed bag for him over his life, Remus had always liked Christmas. When he was growing up dirty poor, his parents made an effort to do something special, no matter how small. And when he was at Hogwarts he'd spent some eChristmases with James Potter's family, which was just... amazing. And even during the war, one year the Order had had such a lovely time drinking eggnog and exchanging silly little gifts, a moment of levity during all of it.

He'd mentioned this to Willy, but didn't expect that the fae was the sort to celebrate Christmas. Still, he'd gotten him a present, something awfully small, and also gotten ingredients to make a sweet mince pie.

He'd gone to bed early the night before, and Willy had still been out (which wasn't unusual) so it was nice to wake the next morning and find Willy in the bed with him. He snuggled up against him.

"I think I am happier today... right now... than I have been in a very long while," whispered Remus.

Willy smiled, deeply satisfied. All he'd wanted was to provide Remus with a day of joy and it seemed he'd succeeded.

"I'm so happy," he said, holding Remus to him. "It's Christmas. You deserve a perfect day."

Of course Remus wished that Willy loved him. But how could he complain about anything right now? This was all he wanted - what did it matter what Willy said, or maybe even what he felt, when he acted like this?

And even if Willy left him tomorrow - which would destroy him, he thought - he would still be grateful for what he had.

Remus finslly slipped out of Willy so that he could settle more comfortably with Willy wrapped tightly around him. "Thank you again for all the thoughtful gifts. I... I'm touched that you've paid so much attention."

"I always pay attention to you, Remus. I'm sure you don't notice- I don't mean for you to notice. But I see. I hear," he assured him.
