The full moon wasn't until the next night, but Remus was already feeling edgy. Mostly he wanted to eat a rare steak and go home and fuck Willy. Except Willy... hadn't been home, even though he'd told Remus he would be. And Remus had baked a pie in anticipation. He'd texted, asking when he'd be home. And he got a response, hours later: probably not home tonight. And then he'd thought... where he probably was... which was with someone else...

Remus left the pie on the counter, put on the new scarf and coat he'd gotten for Christmas, and walked down the street to the nearest bar.

He ordered a rare steak and ate it quickly, and then just sat at the bar sipping bottom shelf whiskey.

When the kiss broke, Remus bent his head and bit John's shoulder. Hard. Not hard enough to draw blood, but hard enough to leave a mark.

John couldn't have asked for better timing. Pain radiated up his back and down his arm. His hand flew fast, then slower and just a few stroked more and he doused Remus's cabinets with a shout.

Remus kept fucking him through it, grunting as he neared his own release. And then as he came, gripping John hard, he... well, howled.

Now that? Was fucking hot. That wasn't the sort of thing a bloke could find fucking everyday people. John grinned, though Remus couldn't see him.

He waited until Remus slipped free and let him go, then John reached to the sink to wash off his hand.

Still breathing heavily, Remus discarded the condom in a wad of tissue in the bin. Then he moved to John and put a hand on his waist. "That was amazing," he murmured. "Thank you."

Thank you? Thank you. He was certain mo one had ever thanked him for a quick, dirty fuck. What did a man even say to that.

"Uh, sure," he replied, tugging up his pants.

Remus belatedly realized that probably was a little weird, and laughed self consciously as he dressed. "Just really unexpected, but bloody hell did I need that. Really though..." He looked at him and smiled. Remus' smile was inherently, angelic almost, which was one reason why the scars that cut across his face seemed so jarring. "Pie? I'm a very good baker."

"Yeah, I'll have a piece," he said as he buckled up, then went hunting for his shirt.

The pie was still warm thanks to Remus' spell, and he got two pieces, put them on plates, and dolloped on some fresh whipped cream he'd made earlier and put in the fridge.

"I wouldn't want to be accused of false advertising," he teased.

The animal that had just fucked him weak was absolutely not the same person as this man plopping cream on pie. John wasn't sure he'd ever seen such a fast 180.

"Yeah...considering I didn't actually expect pie, this is good, mate," he said.

"Well now you know exactly two things I'm good at," Remus said dryly, and then flicked his wand so that the pie plate sorted itself and wrapped up the remainder. Perhaps Willy would have it for breakfast.

"I bet you're good at a lot of other things," he said before shoving a huge bite in his mouth.

[mooningremus]

"Magic," offered Remus. "Though I think we have that in common."

[petty_dabbler]

"Different flavors, but yeah. I reckon," he said as he swiped his tongue at the corner of his mouth to lick stray cream. "I generally stay away from that lot."

[mooningremus]

"Yeah, me too these days," said Remus, his gaze flicking to John's mouth and lingering there.

[petty_dabbler]

"I'd like to think you're smart enough to avoid them. They only want you dead," he said, a bite held right at his mouth as he spoke.

[mooningremus]

"I'm glad you weren't hunting me," Remus said, and took a bite of pie to distract himself from John's mouuth.

[petty_dabbler]

"You better be glad it wasn't me hunting you. I'd have had that done and put to bed months ago," John replied honestly.

[mooningremus]

Remus believed him. Or at least he believed that Joh thought that.

"Well the last werewolf hunter that came after me is dead," he said, and took a bite of the pie.

[petty_dabbler]

"And the world's a better place for it, I'm sure," he said. "This is really good. You weren't wrong."

[mooningremus]

"I take requests," Remus quipped as he finished his off, and then seeing that John's was empty now, took them both to the sink.

[petty_dabbler]

"I should probably go before he comes home. I don't want to be here for the row," he said as he stood up, suddenly a bit awkward about how to end the night.

[mooningremus]

"Yes, of course," Remus said, a little relieved by that.

"John, I - " He wasn't sure what to say. "I realize this was probably just a fluke thing, but if you want to..." He didn't know how to end that. "I mean. You know where to find me I guess."

[petty_dabbler]

"YEah. I know how to find you," he nodded. He wasn't going to hold his breath. He was sure Remus wasn't going to tell Willy.

Might be kind of nice to get one over on the faerie, though...

God, you are such an asshole, John. You just need to fuck up people's lives, don't you?

Chas did have a point, though. At least this time John knew he was right.

Remus stood, to walk him to the door. "To be clear... I hope to see you again."
